My husband lost his mother and of course this is a sad time for any family. Our family had decided on having our loved one cremated so we could hold a celebration of life without a viewing. We got the call to go get our mother's ashes. We walked in and was ignored immediately by staff members who were talking and complaining about their disorganized reports they had to complete for the day. We finally interrupted them to let them know we were there to pick up our mother's ashes. They acted annoyed and very rudely told us we would have to wait, that they were in the middle of something and it would be a minute. We agreed and waited. Then we listened for a little longer to some more complaining back and forth about how there was all this work to do. Finally the same man came out and told us to come in and have a seat in his office. He then chastised us for not calling ahead to let him know we were coming. I asked my husband if his brother had not called ahead, and my husband confirmed that indeed, his brother had called ahead and the funeral home had told us the ashes were ready for pick up. The man then simply said, "well, you should have called and made an appointment to pick up the ashes." --- Ok- who just lost a family member and who is the customer here? So Rude! --- Then he handed my husband a certificate to look over confirming we had the correct ashes. My husband started reading the certificate and said, "there must be some mistake, this is not my mother's certificate. This is someone who is 47 years old." This terrible business was about to give us someone else's ashes and if my husband had not been paying close attention, we may have taken off with the wrong ashes. When my husband brought this to the man's attention, the businessman seemed to get even angrier and said, "Again, I wish you would have called ahead to make an appointment and we would have been better prepared." My husband and I apologized. -- Here we were...just lost our mom, being ignored and then chastised and having to apologize to these guys for what? We should not be apologizing! He should have been. Just poorly run. Very unprofessional and inappropriate. This is a business that should offer the most sensitive customer service in life. Very disappointing and so I am giving them a low marking.

  • Another letter from a family we served (smile emoticon)
"You are the best people. Very dignified and well mannered. I would recommend your company to everyone I know. We were very respected and treated as family not treated like just "a company in need of money." I thank you for everything you have done for me and my family. IN MEMORY OF MY SISTER BOBBIE SUE ARNETT BOGGS."
